Remember the Trade That Brought Nick SwaggyP Young

Clippers Forum » Garbage Bin

All these trade rumors brought back a good memory how he just fell into our laps for a Brian Cookie crumbs.

^I'm sorry, but do you have to take every single opportunity just to advertise your podcast? I mean you already have a thread that you frequently bump, and a bunch of other methods to advertise. I don't mean to be rude but just having a former Clipper in one of your Clippers podcasts shouldn't be reason enough for you to bring it up.

rude! so what if he is.. he just wants us to listen to his work.. u dont gotta be a douche..

we had a gm last year. we dont have one this year. vdn is running the show and what he'll do is give away our young guys like ebled and jordan for a rental in KG. kinda like he gave away Mo for a fat slob who averages 3 points a game!

^

I take it your not a VDN fan. Wink

As someone said in a another post Mo was not happy playing back up to CP and was apparently causing trouble in the locker room.

That was a great trade. I'd love for something like that to happen again.

Really Greenmonk? You and I were 2 of the older members here. Surprised to hear aggression from you, kind of a let down. Oh well.

My point is that this isn't his site and he's using it to advertise his work all over the place even though David (generously) allowed him to make a whole thread about it. I take it you haven't run a website or forum before, let alone the biggest Clippers community online. No forums would let you advertise like that.

Heck, I had a site before I moved off to college. The only place I was allowed to advertise was in the off topic section, and I was a moderator here at the time.

Call me a douche if you want but I just don't like when every little thing brings up his podcast. "Omg you have a dog? So do I, listen about him here! (Insert podcast link here)".

Just stick to the thread, he's lucky to even be allowed to advertise on a community with thousands of Clippers fans. Don't push it.

That was a great trade. But we were lucky to get a quality role player / player from a team who just wanted to dump somebody and clear up cap space. Teams like Atlanta and Utah are trying to move good players because they don't want to pay them, but they would like to try to get something for them outside of the big cap space they will leave behind. For a contending team like us, moving Bledsoe for Millsap, Smith etc isn't a bad thing. Odom likely won't be re signed, unless it's for cheap. His big salary comes off the books as does a few other players. Giving us some room to sign CP3 and fill in the veterans on the team. What's the price of a championship? For teams in various sports like the Patriots, Yankees, Red Wings, Lakers, Celtics, Steelers etc. it's not a bad idea to trade away hot young talent to bring in a veteran, if it means winning then so be it. Afterall, those ans are used to being, and staying on top. For a team like us, or even Indiana and Brooklyn ( and I believe were better than both ), adding Smith, Garnett, Pierce or Millsap is a gamble worth taking. We've never won anything, the age and health of some of the better vets on our team could mean retirement at the end of the year and we'll have to hope we can replace those players with solid guys to continue to dominate, which I think is a hard thing to do, even with veteran players taking less money to play for great teams. I've been all about Josh Smith since he was at Oak Hill Academy. He came into the NBA as a SF/SG who got stuck at SF then moved to....

But let's not forget folks, we dominated the first half of the season without having Hill or Billups for more than what, 3 games total? If those 2 can remain healthy in the playoffs and give us solid contributions, I can completely see why we pass on all trades and ride it out. If we can win 17 games in a row without these guys, whose to say we can't take it to the house and run over the West and win the Finals?

Totally agree. I haven't heard a sniff of any trade that will undoubtedly make us better... the closest thing was the Garnett deal, but even then they were asking for too much and the issue of messing with locker room chemistry concerned me.

At this point, unless a Swaggy-P type deal (ie: only cutting dead weight) falls in our laps, let's roll with the current crew.

Unrelated.. but I will be graduating college in April... If you still don't have a web site... Let me know, we can work something out!

Was just excited about people still calling him Swaggy P out here in Clipperland, I guess that name has taken on a life of its own in Philly? Def appreciate the *** thread and when a new one drops we do tend to talk about it a bit. We're excited is all because literally nobody was listening at first and now it's got a pretty decent following. But more importantly... Swaggy P will always live on in Clipper lore for the Miracle in Memphis! But when we talk of that game will we remember him as Nick Young. Or Swaggy P??

PS out of the last 30 + posts we've only linked like twice and only once outside of thread. So do you really have a dog because let's podcast about it! I'm with Greenmonk. Happy Swaggy P is getting paid bummer it's in one of America's worst cities!

***... this is me passing along a message from site Admin David. Please tone down the advertising of the podcast on the forum and practically spamming it. Keep it in the "Everything Else" section of the forum please. Thank you for your understanding. For those interested you can PM them the info as well.

Sure thing. Thanks for not writing me an Internet ticket. Happy to know you web cops are out there keeping the Clippers message boards clean of Clipper related links

*** after multiple warnings I've banned you. I may unban you in a couple days but for now you need a break. I've talked to you about trolling a couple times and now I talk to you about spamming and pass along a message from the site admin and you try clowning on mods. If you can't follow the board rules, don't post here.

^ Don't mean to tell you your business, but you shouldn't just go around banning people for talking back to you. I looked through his post history out of curiosity, his whole first page, only this post was about his podcast from outside of his thread.

With that said, dude seems to be getting a lot of traffic from this website and doesn't seem to appreciate it.

Just my $0.02

Hey everybody I'm Chris Wylde host of *** and long time Clipper fan. Thats fun to say even though technically I didn't say anything I'm really just typing on my phone. I personally am super appreciative of Clippers Top Buzz. It is above and beyond the best Clippers website. Besides maybe a 2007 Clippers Spirit Girl Taylor fan page that only I can see when I close my eyes and listen to my heart. Clipper fans are the coolest people in the world and we deserve our own top shelf message board! And we've got one here. The reason Jaglin and I started *** was because we felt Clipper Nation deserved their own big time podcast. We also deserve a Clippers sports bar but you can't win em all (like last night, woof). We have received nearly ten percent of all our listens through people clicking on links right here on top buzz. Thanks CTB! 50 percent of our listeners are confused buzz cut enthusiasts. I've had a terrific run with the Clips, I met my wife at a Clippers game! She wisely objected to my first idea for our son's name: Vinny Del Cherokee Parks. To all who may have been offended by ***'s comments I personally apologize and assure you wrists have been slapped, time outs have been issued, and there's been some technical free throws rewarded as well. To all who have tolerated our Clipper love spewing podcast thank you thank you thank you. To all the Clippers Top Buzzers keep buzzing I'll be reading and commenting as well. We, Clipper Nation, Rise Up and Represent or whatever our slogan is next season. Lob City Champions? Champ City? A Tribe Called Champs? If I may quote Clipper Darrell, "lets go Clippers. Lets go." Lets go everyone
