Clippers guard Chauncey Billups will make his season debut tonight against Minnesota, a source tells Y! Sports. Billups will start at SG.

Best News of the year.

Wow. That went under the radar.

Best news! Very Happy

Wow my boy is back. Interesting to see what he's got left in him. Bye bye Willie Green.. Hello Chauncey.

Hell ya

So why would he come back early in the midst of this fire VDN shatter? Hmmmmm....

Kinda weird to don't you think? If I wanted the coach fired, I'd wait out till he's gone. Seems Billups and the boys are on a mission now...Haters!

Will be a HUGE morale boost! Win,streak coming.

Kind of like the k love comeback

And just like that we are back to being the cockiest fans in the NBA, I love it. Chauncey for President

CJ why bring VDN into this? Its annoying

People are reasonably excited. Nobody is acting cocky about anything.

I wasn't being sarcastic about it, I really feel we are the best team in the NBA right now and i'm sure others think that also. Chauncey is a game changer

Premature? Idk about that none of us knew anything. He did start playing 5-5 before the season started

Well after the Horents game there were countless Chauncey calls. When the 3-pt missing fiasco came to an end, I yelled towards the bench, "we need you Chauncey" and he just nodded. Guess he feels the teams need for him. Just really hope he has fully recovered and he feels that he is ready to return.

I cant belive it. This is gonna be intense. We actually have a shot at wiWwwnning this

he should be. Earli in the season the word was late november. Hen that got bumped to december

As long as he doesn't drive the lane looking for a foul too early in the last seconds against Minny, leaving them an opportunity to win the game.

Yeah... I still get the nightmares. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_37

Well, it is considered premature based on what VDN said on Monday. he said there was no timetable for him. Billups had also said the same thing during the road trip.

haha yes!! I just got free tickets from a friend. I was already stoked on the game. Now I am even more excited!

I just game my seat away this morning due to some work functions. DAMN! I want to be there.

Welcome news, for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing how Chauncey looks out there. But I also gotta say I feel kind of bad for Willie Green. He's instantly going to go from a starter to like the 10th or 11th guy because of this. If Billups looks good, I think we may be seeing a lot of 3 guard/small line-ups in the future, so that CP, Billups and Crawford can play together. Its going to be interesting.

Coach Billups to the rescue!

I'm going to the game!!!!! finally Mr Big Shot is back!

Since CJ brought up VDN, i'll just say that if this turns into Willie Green and Eric Bledsoe splitting minutes or Green playing more minutes than bledsoe, then we have all the evidence we need that there is no hope for VDN.

Yeah, I have a lot of gratitude and sympathy for Willie. Overall, he did a great job of holding down the fort for a 3rd-stringer. Hopefully, we can blow some of these weaker teams out early over the next month and he'll at least get some good garbage minutes.

I usually get to the games right on time for tip. Hopefully I can get on the road early to help with standing O Billups is going to receive. I'm so excited. He's been in practice for a while and on the road trip he told Mike Smith that he was ready, just wanted to get practice in so as not to screw with chemistry. He is ready. Let's get this win!

Forcing my parents to let me go! MR. BIG SHOT is back!!!

Maybe integrating Billups so early will seal Vinnys Fate. Vinny might not know how to deal with the rotations and Billips might not look that good???

I guess will find out tonight!

probably because he is a professional and doesnt care who is coaching just wants to do whatever he can to help the team win.

Hope he won't be rusty...

Awesome news!!! This is just what the team needed to lift their spirits up at a crucial part of the season. I'm expecting a more energized and focused Clippers team from here on out. Let's go Clips!!!

GREAT post by Tsherkin from RealGM regarding his impact.

"He's a career 49.6% eFG and 58.1% TS player because he draws fouls at .444 FTA/FGA over the course of his career, canning them at 89.4% FT. That, coupled with his career 38.9% 3P shooting (5 seasons at 40%+) makes him a HIGHLY efficient and extremely effective offensive player, to say nothing of what happens when you add in the fact that he's a good playmaker (just not a volume playmaker).

It makes sense to give him a bunch of touches, because he's absurdly efficient with them. You're talking about a guy who takes 11.2 FGA/g on his career, produces 15.5 ppg (9 straight seasons of 16.2+ ppg, at that) and produces a career 118 ORTG (7 years in a row of 120+)."

CB show EB how to mannup and play like a beast after an Achilles injury. I have a feeling he's going to play smarter (if thats possible) and more smooth now that his whole body has rested and reshaped.

How do you measure that? If we need a shooter, you go with Willie. If you want defense and ball hogging, you go with Bledsoe.

Oh, and if Bledsoe continues to stink it up, and VDN makes a change, you guys will go after VDN for not giving him minutes. And if we keep Bledsoe in despite him playing subpar, you guys will go after him for not making adjustments. lol

catch22 no matter what happens...

wink

Yes yes hell yes !!

Joe Bledsoe absolutely isn't playing particularly well the last couple games but nowhere near "stinking it up". Dude got what 12 and 8 minutes the last two games? Bledsoe never gets enough time to show much... but vs the Hawks just two games ago he scored 12 in the 4th and was the main defensive stopper that key'd the huge comeback (which fell short).

You missed the point. This was always Billups' decision. This had nothing to do witgh VDN, this was not his choice. VDN has always made it clear that the decision wasn't his to make.

Of course, Bledsoe gets his points every chance he gets. I've said his scoring doesn't impress me, I'm worried how he doesn't make anyone better. The second squad lacks direction and it falls on Bledsoe. So my problem lies in him not making anyone better. In case you haven't noticed, the bench as a whole stinks. The team as a whole stnks so this isn't just about Bledsoe. I mentioned Bledsoe cause that was directed at me.

Caron Butler: I'm so honest with people when they're coming back from injury. I'll be like, 'You look a step slow still.' But he looks great."

such a feel good story. good for chauncey - im glad he's realizing the effects of hard-work, determination, focus, and PASSION for the game. its no wonder why this guy is seen as one of the best locker room leaders in the game.

BIG UPS, BIG SHOT! staples better give this guy a ROUSING standing ovation.

How bout another win streak !!

Yea you're right, I remember. I had him marked down for end of Nov as well, just thought we could afford to have him rest up a bit more and tune himself better with an extra 10-12 days.

Woah now... I hope I'm not seeing you speculate on a player's opinion of VDN. That would make you a hypocrite. roll

We're u in the locker room. How do u know if Vinny didn't ask Billups if he could come back a week early. Maybe Billups was asked if was ready to play. Maybe Vinny is trying to save his ass. If Billups ain't ready it might just back fire on Vinny. I could see it happening. Billups was expected early December not late November.

^This IS Billiups choice and only Billups choice.

i dont expect billups to play more than 20 minutes tonight. but whatever minutes he gets, he will definately help this team out.
