as much as it would be great to have him on the bench, his gf wont let him join the enemy of the flakers. so i doubt this is a possibility
Just getting rid of VDN would be all worth it.
It would be a dream made in heaven. First CP3 and then Phil both snagged from the Lakers and Vinny finally getting what he deserves. I would be the happiest fan on earth. To good to be true. I will be praying these rumors come true. It would truly be a Clipper Year.
^just great, sam is back out of the woodwork again. sam, you know its from twitter right, not yet a reality. so dont get your misguided hopes up.
Here is a older post

Jackass doesn't want to coach, he wants a piece of a franchise and to be the undisputed emperor of all he surveys.
Anyone who believes Sterling will sign the Clippers over to him needs their head examined.
^ A couple of quotes from that piece which, incidentally was written by some chicken little when we'd lost a few in a row on the way to our best season ever...
"The difference between a well-coached team and a team that is merely talented comes when they play against the other elite teams. It shows how well prepared they are both mentally and in terms of game preparation."
Well our record against the "elite" teams is pretty good so far.
"Last night's blowout loss at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder, (who were incidentally on the back end of a back-to-back) was a sign that as talented as the Clippers are, they are not well coached."
And what about the 3 times we beat OKC - eventual conference champs - last year? Were those games evidence that we WERE well coached?
Of course not... because when we lose it's all Vinny's fault, but when we win with him on the sidelines we just got by on talent. If the coach of any team gets all the credit for their good games then he deserves all the blame when they can't deliver, and vice versa.
Once again, I don't remember reading a word about firing Vinny after the second victory over San Antonio, IN San Antonio. Do I believe Vinny singlehandedly won those games? Only about as much as I believe he singlehandedly lost the last four, which is not at all.
You can't have it both ways, Vinny-haters.
As much as I like our chances of winning a title with Phil as our coach, I just can't see him coming back and coaching. He's retired, and contemplated retirement since the mid 90's. He's a big family man and he's aged rather poorly. But I guess that's what like 10 rings does to you.
Clippers will keep VDN till the end of this season. Clippers will look to keep CP3 by promising to fire VDN and hiring a better coach. That's a selling point for CP3 to resign. VDN will only get fired if clippers go on a 6 game leaping streak
Phil Jackson would be awesome but I honestly think Jerry Sloan is a better fit. Idk how well Chris Paul and Blake Griffin would be able to work in the triangle offense, while Jerry Sloan has a ton of history (and a ton of success) running teams with a star point guard and a star powerforward (Stockton/Malone then again with Williams/Boozer).
I think Sloan would do a better job of getting maximum potential out of the team we have right now. Phil Jackson, while having a ton of success throughout his career, mostly relies on 2-3 players rather than the entire team.
Jackson would shut up the all fakers fans and the clips will destroy the rest of the league !!
I don't know,,this is the guy that made fun of we fans and our team countless time sin the past,,even at one time calling us an "ugly crowd compared to the Fakers fans".
Clippers is right,,Phil would want more then just to be a coach and DTS would no way pay Phil type money,,,save the money for CP3.
Jackson should do it honestly. If there is one guy to manage a ton of different personalities it's him. I hope this at the very least makes Sterling call him if untrue. Would make for an incredible story.
"@ESPN_FirstTake Don't be surprised to see Phil Jackson in LA anyway #Clippers"
"@espn: BREAKING: Sources say Phil Jackson has began negotiations with the Clippers to possibly take over as head coach."
This last tweet was taken down within 10 seconds but already had enough retweets to find.
Although Jackson likes our players. he might be mad at the flakers. he would never come to LAC. he dislike DTS so much. any chance Phil got. He took shots at Sterling everytime. there's 0 chance of him coming to LAC.
Clippers is right,,Phil would want more then just to be a coach and DTS would no way pay Phil type money,,,save the money for CP3.
I do believe this may factor into that decision. PHil did make a lot of jokes at our expense

Thank you, Ron. Some of us fans don't forget easily. Some of us fans don't forget those type of things. The last person I want coaching this team is Jackson. Jackson has just as big an ego as Kobe and Shaq. If he ever contemplated coming here, it would be for all the wrong reasons.
He can go eat a **** for all I care.
It amazes me that people here are cheerleading this type of move. How easily these people would swallow their pride to get a person who has laughed at this franchise so often. Some people here have no conviction, backbone, or honor.
How easily people would sell their soul to a guy who has bashed the franchise, owner, and fans throughout his tenure as a Lakers coach.
I posted this yesterday, did you even LISTEN to what Phil said....SLIM and NONE. He isn't looking to coach again.
Anyone who believes Sterling will sign the Clippers over to him needs their head examined.
This X1000. Phil is never coming here. Never. Ever.
Phil is not coming to the Clippers, but it is more fun to talk about this than our 4 game losing streak. Also I'm sure D'Antoni will be available in a couple of days. LOL
bring in Sloan
We look like the laker fans who wanted to get LeBron James after they were 1-4, we shouldn't panic like this, and if just IF PJ would come to the Clips I would support it,wanna know why? Cause remind me of a player who was in Blake's face and now is a MAJOR role player for our team!
"Hi Mr. Jackson, this is Clippers GM Jerry Sacks and I'm here with director of basketball operations Gerald Madkins. We understand you have interest in returning to the bench and Mr. Sterling has informed us that he is willing to meet your demands if you would consider becoming the next head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Phil Jackson: I appreciate the offer but last time I checked you guys already have a head coach.
Sacks: We do?
Jackson: Let me think about it.
Sacks: Thank you Mr. Jackson, we look forward to hearing back from you.
Phone call ends. "
That's funny how Sacks just says we do???
Anyone who believes Sterling will sign the Clippers over to him needs their head examined.
who cares if thats what he wants, if it brings us a championship i really dont care who owns the franchise. If we brought in him or Sloane I would be stoked
It'll definitely be too good to be true, if it does happen...I just don't see it, at least not right now. One of the conditions that Phil had, if I recall, in regards to the Lakers' job was that the team had to take care of whatever business that they had with the existing head coach (in this case, Mike Brown) before he consider taking the job.
I believe Jerry Sloan shares the same feelings as Jackson, and I believe most coaches feel the same way in regards of coming in and taking over an existing coach's job, no matter how much the fans want the incumbent coach gone.
Look I don't care about that "stuff" Jackson said, we were a rival in the same town ,lol. Being disrespectful and saying things that are untrue is one thing, being competitive with some verbal jousting is another. Some people complained about the same thing with a certain player we now have on our team...it doesn't take away how good or great they are or were.
But saying all that, Jackson chances of coaching us are .0001%, hence the slim and none comment....If there's a change coming, look in another coaching closet.
Just bring in someone that will harvest all the talent that is on our team and put in in the win column! RIght now I don't see Vinny juicing Bledsoe's or DJ's full talent!
I really hope this is true.... God, that would be absolutely epic - not only with how much better our team would be immediately, but also the meltdown that Laker fans would have.
But saying all that, Jackson chances of coaching us are .0001%
So there is a chance?
I don't want any coaching changed being made during the middle of the regular season. It would be unwise because the players would have to get used to a different system.
If we're going to get rid of Vinny, then do it in the offseason.
Battered wife syndrome.
Self-respect goes out the window at the scary prospect of actually having to do something for yourself. "Phil's a ****, but he's a **** who knows how to win a ring".
I'm actually impressed with the lakers that they had the balls to try and succeed without him.
Phil Jackson's not happening,he once said he would NEVER work for an owner like Donald Sterling. Unless he's really pissed the Lakers passed on him and wants to beat them(& this Clipper roster with Phil Jackson WOULD win the title)
But saying all that, Jackson chances of coaching us are .0001%
So there is a chance?
Yes, only less of a chance then we had at the time of getting....Lebron.
But saying all that, Jackson chances of coaching us are .0001%, hence the slim and none comment....If there's a change coming, look in another coaching closet.
Huh? What coach has ever made comments about the another team's owner, or made of fun of their fans in the manner Jackson has?
it's one thing for a player to say things like that, and it's another for a coach, who is part of management to say those types of things. Apples and oranges...
How easily people would sell their soul to a guy who has bashed the franchise, owner, and fans throughout his tenure as a Lakers coach.
Do u have a problem cheering for Barnes?
Do u have a problem cheering for Barnes?
Nope. Barnes is a role player for hire, not representing the franchise on a large scale. Plus, would you hire an employee who's sleeping with the daughter, and part owner of your biggest competitor? For me, I would not. Just on principle alone.
Seems people have forgotten that.

I am aware of the things that Phil has said about our franchise, but as Stephen A says, this team's talent is scary. The things Phil said really does bother me, but the pride that a championship would bring to me, is bigger than the one I would swallow of Phil Jackson was the coach for our team.

yeah, the highest payroll couldn't help Phil from being swept in his last season. That's the phil we'd probably get if I were a betting man.

Yeah... in a related story, the Pepsi company is reaching out to the boyfriend of the Coca-Cola heiress to be their new CEO... and they're prepared to pay him an unprecedented salary and sign a portion of the company over to him.
Sounds ludicrous, I know... but it was on twitter for 10 seconds, so it must be true.

I didn't say I want him. I'm still supporting VDN. But the fact of having an 11 time NBA championship choach on our team really lets one's imagination loose.

Great example for those that don't get it.
