PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- In just his second game with the Los Angeles Lakers, veteran guard Steve Nash injured his left knee against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Nash appeared to bump knees with Blazers rookie guard Damian Lillard late in the first half Wednesday night and limped off the court. He was helped to the locker room.

The Lakers initially reported the injury was not serious and Nash was able to play. But just 1:16 into the second half it was clear he was struggling and he headed back to the locker room.

The exact nature of the injury was not known. Nash was replaced by Steve Blake.

Nash had two points and four assists against the Blazers.

thats once easy solution to get out of the princeton offense

Wow, an old player suffers an injury, how surprising. If you are going to run with an ancient PG whose defense was not great in his prime, you beter have a very good backup. The Lakers will continually get torched on defense this year until they solve this issue. Already, 2 decent but not extraordinary PGs from opposing teams have made them look very bad.

Depth.

Hmm that 3 year deal is not looking so good right about now... Oh wait it never looked good.

Good one dude. Absolutely hysterical.

^ Indeed it is Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_03

^He is better than this. He did not get old overnight. He has been a pick and roll guy his whole career, a motion offense with multiple options will be a dangerous thing in his hands, given some time to learn it well. I actually fear this offense more in his hands than just about anyone else, once they sort it out.

^yup.

You were right.

@Mike_Bresnahan: Steve Nash could miss up to four weeks with the small fracture in his left leg, a Lakers source said. #BadLakerNews

Age catching up and Kobe saying it feels as if his foot is going to fall off
