Now I know its just been one game BUT.. I'm seeing some familiar trends with former Clippers.

Blake is injured for the Pistons

JJ Redick is still currently MIA for the post season

Tobias isn't hungry and not a max player

-Also the Brooklyn Nets are the "Clippers West". DLo is making Magic look like a fool for letting him go and dissing him on the way out

Blake’s body is just not built for the whole regular season grind. He needs to be in a team where he’s the third star and can afford to rest on alternating nights. If Blake was drafted by the spurs or any organization that wasn’t in a hurry for him to develop right away, we might be talking about one of the greatest forward ever. Funny how the type of team a player ends up with has great impact on player’s legacy, Blake was unfortunately drafted by a team who was hungry to win and win now. Fans, media, and owners weren’t patient and wanted him to be a complete player right away. If he had the time to develop with little expectations, get his body right, and not try to play thru injuries, we might be talking about Blake differently today. Some players just aren’t built for pressure right away.

CP is the same. He over exerts himself. But his early season injury might have been a blessing but they get the warriors on the second round so who knows.

Phillies remind me so much of Lob City Era. A bunch of young kids who are injury prone, doesn’t know how to win yet, but the expectation is just too high. I see the same mistakes Lob city make where they underestimate teams and sometimes go through the motion thinking they got the tool to turn it on anytime. Personally, I would trade Simmons. He’s just a bad fit on that team and by the time his game fully developed, Embiid might be too old and brittle.

Rooting for Raptors to fail and fail early, so clippers’ chances for the Kawhi sweepstakes increase. Rooting for the warriors to lose at all cost, so maybe we can entice Kevin Durant as well.

Anybody that beats the Warriors on the west deserve to win the NBA title. But it would be nice to see the Bucks take the title. This league needs a new face and Giannis would be a great ambassador to the game.

I am convinced BG is just mentally weak. I don't think he can take much pressure. I think the injuries have become an excuse and a crutch when he doesn't feel like he can be, "that guy". The limelight is too much for him. Trying to lead a team is too much for him. I was convinced of this when he CP3 went down against Portland and minutes after, he decided he couldn't play either. That told me BG didn't want to embrace the challenge. I also thought the same thing when I heard BG wasn't going to play in game 1. Yeah, glad we got out of that contract.

Just saw this regarding Blake:

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/283 ... g-national

I’m also glad we got rid of him. If he wasn’t so super scornful about the clipper organization and the fan base, I’d hope for him to find success and retire his jersey in the new arena. Now? He’d be lucky to have his jersey retired anywhere outside of college and high school.

Yeah he's done for the season. Wow. Wished Miami would've gotten in so Wade could get some more run instead of the Pistons.

-Denver with a bad opening game loss at home to the Spurs. They're proving everyone right when they said the Nuggets didn't have any playoff experience

He grew up. He learned that the world doesn't revolve around him because all of his life it has since he was a pup.

Boston’s floor spacing is horrible! Looks like their guys don’t have a clear ideas of their roles. Time for them to trade some of the young guys and have a clear go to guy. Too.many captains on the team

Props to Blake for actually playing. It looks like every move he makes hurt him

Has there been anyone in history who gets hurt right before the playoffs as much as Blake?

a lot of former clippers having a lot of success on the first round. Mike Scott hit that big 3. JJ is finally in a system where it's a lot harder to focus the defense on him. Al Faraq Aminu showing why he's a lottery draft pick. Even the most hated Austin kept the rockets closed in the first half

heard about that. If Portland only had some interior defensive presence, what a team.

Watching Westbrook and PG makes me say, wow, Blake and Paul outside of injury were a lot better and more productive for winning than I gave credit for. Thunder roster isn't perfect, yes, neither was the Clippers, but these guys have lost twice in the first round when expected to win by many and with no significant injury. They aren't losing to some juggernaut opponents either and they are losing in very unimpressive fashion as it's not like they are even pushing their series' to 7 games.

Westbrook mainly, all this attack, attack, aggressiveness, carry the team on your back stuff is useless when you just take bad shots, miss a ton of shots and kill your teams chance. Guy is good, no doubt, but he was also winning a lot more before because he had an all time great in Durant to make up for his inefficiency and chucking. His true value as a top star without an ATG next to him is showing up post-Durant and its not impressive despite triple doubles and all the aggressiveness, etc

Westbrook is an example of a talented player who grew up in the NBA with inexperience coaches at the NBA level. Wished he had a coach who has the NBA credential to tell him to stick to a play and run it. For his entire career, Westbrook has always been bigger than his head coach.

I was very happy at the trade that we got for Tobias Harris. Hopefully Philadelphia can go far with him. I hope this is one of those trades we're both teams look back on it and say both teams won.
