It’s been reported that Draymond challenged Durant’s impending free agency:

https://mobile.twitter.com/ShamsCharani ... 5840953345

Could this be the beginning of the end of a dynasty?

What does that mean? Challenge his impending free agency

I assume it was something like, "You have to be able to depend on the guy taking the last shot, and you've proven you can't be depended on right now with your mind on other teams." Or something like that.

Not sure if KD is a true winner, though. He had to join one of the most stacked teams of all time in order to win his first Championship.

I LOVE THIS STUFF!! A loss to the Clippers has them falling apart. Haha. Just read an article regarding DJ’s shaky start in Dallas. His teammates don’t like him!! Hahaha I think he’ll end up in Houston.

KUDOS to Jerry West!!! What a turnaround.

Well Draymond did more than call names since he got suspended for tonight’s game and fined as well

I would agree if KD just went along with the ride but if it wasn’t because of Durant warriors don’t win back to back championships.

Yikes! Good for us. Hopefully more drama emerges and the team falls apart all due to a clipper win over them 😂😂😂😂

Yeah, it hurt his overall reputation. It wasn't like the gap between the Warriors and the Thunder was that huge either. The thunder were up 3-1 in the series and blew it. So for Durant to do what he did was just one of the worst moments in modern day NBA.

Awesome! What a shame that such an unlikable squad won so many titles. They have to be one of the more hated teams right now. Draymond punching b#lls, Curry throwing a mouthpiece, Durant having a burner account, etc.

All these stars are scared sh*tless of ending their careers ringless. Shaq and company on TNT started started that "you not sh*t unless you have a ring" mantra. Didn't like Durant's move at all but I know why he did it.. the same as how Bron had to get his in Miami. Now that the ring thing is taken care of I see him leaving the Warriors and try to get his respect back. I think there's a strong chance that Jerry West is going to get him on the Clipps next season. The Warriors don't even respect him

Well, it definitely wasn't the first time Durant has been in public arguments with his Warriors teammates. I hope it becomes toxic for them over there. Most of all I hope we can enter a new era where ring chasing is not as common. What sucks about ring chasing is that the beneficiary is not some deserving team, say like the Timberwolves or Raptors. More often than not it is a team that already has success: Warriors, Spurs, Lakers, Celtics, etc.

Jerry has been sending people to scout Durant from what I hear, so he does have interest. It will be exciting to see what he can pull off this off season. But whatever plans West has, I hope that we keep SGA, JR, and Montrezl.

These guys are untouchable now and in the future. Well maybe JR.. but SGA and Trez are definitely here to stay. I kinda laugh at the "scouting Durant" statement in the media. He's a consecutive all star, league MVP, and two time Finals MVP.. What is there to scout? LOL

you'd be surprised but even though he is an all star it doesn't mean he automatically is a good fit here. Lebron James is the best player in league but he's a bad fit on the Lakers. Scouting now will let you get a better idea of these things. It will also give you an idea of who else to add to the roster to maximize that players abilities.

As far as KD, we're forgetting one thing, Booger Cousins. I hope he's OK but how few players have come back after that injury? I doubt he's grown up. Booger and Draymond together will be real interesting. Can they play fast with Booger?

Great conversation, but don't really see how it is Clipper related. There's an NBA section for things like this #Just Sayin'. I honestly dgaf about the Warriors and they should not be in the Clippers Discussion section of the site.

the minute Durant leaves GS there will be some level of parity in the league again. Hopefully he comes to the Clips. How great would it be that we beat their asses and they got so pissed at each other for losing that they broke the team up lmaoooo

To be a nag like my ex, (not to be a racist but she was half Jewish) guys why do you still put Jerome in the same paragraph as Trezz of SGA? Sometimes for Xmas you may get a pony but you are more likely to get a pile of horse sh*t and that is our situation with Jerome. The team that wins a ring is the one who deserves it. What Draymond did was inexcusable. I didn't realize it but SGA picked his pocket and Trezz picked up the trash. How does it feel to have a ROOKIE punk you DG? Maybe we will get Durant.

Isn't a scientific fact merely an opinion that falls within accepted statistical norms? I tried to convince my prof that anything I wrote was correct because there were no Laws of Physics. There were only Opinions of Physics. He flunked me anyway.

I just hope we don't have another dynasty after that team falls apart. The league suffers when one team is dominant like that

It affects our potential to sign Durant and our direct competition in our division

Personally I think he might go the Knicks or us. Don’t think he is resigning with the warriors. Hopefully this all makes them implode

Because it's a hot topic and it's deserving to be near the top of a clipper conversation.Outside of Clipper games (especially victories over big opponents), dismantling of Clipper enemies (Warriors, Lakers) is just as big.

Hoopshype has the headline for Durant: Lakers or Knicks next? My first option is I hope he comes to the Clippers but if he decides to leave Oakland Please, Please let it be to the east coast with the Knicks. I rather he go to the Knicks and we have my dream finals Clippers vs Knicks... and yes I hate the Lakers that much!

Can't imagine Durant choosing the Clippers over the Lakers, but I don't think he stays in GS another season. There's been a TON of animosity about KD's presence up there, from fans disappointed KD got 2 finals MVP's over Curry, to fans feeling like KD is the first "bandwagon player". But that "Bandwagon Player" angle might be just what brings KD to the Clips. Joining the Lakers would only continue that narrative. Winning a Championship with the Clips and effectively taking LA from LeBron would be TRULY legendary. Plus he'd get to play the Warriors at least 4x year and say stuff like "you can't win without me" to Draymond every time they meet.

KD to the Clippers is the only way he redeems his career and rises from the abyss of Bitchdom

If KD signed with the Clippers, it would take a lot for me to warm up to him. He could drop 50/10/10 in a blow out win against whoever is the best team and I would still find reasons to yell at the TV

If it doesn't have to do with the Clippers, it doesn't belong in the Clippers discussion. There is specifically an NBA conversations section on this thread. Hate to even type this up to bump this thread... whatever. over it.

LMFAO, I remember that it was classic. Durant expressed that even after his first championship it didn't give him a sense of completion. I guess he listens to the criticism

everything that he did was horrible. I was a big fan of his because he was part of what I view as the ideal situation. When the Thunder drafted him, Westbrook, and Ibaka, it was a homegrown contender. That's the way it should be. Prior to that we had the Lakers basically buying the best talent and using the rest of the league like they were a farm system. When Durant, Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka made it to the finals I thought...this is what the clippers should do. It was a testament to what you can achieve through the draft. Durant just basically sh#t all over that. By joining the Warriors, he essentially undid all that and signaled to the NBA that nothing had changed. The rich get richer and small market teams exist to develop players for the marquee teams. Sports is a tragic business with no loyalty or honor. So far not much has changed

Looking at how the warriors got blown out by the rockets, it appears Durant can't carry the team without Curry.

Also Durant is still not passed the incident with Draymond:

I agree with the call David, not only did this stem from an incident during the clippers game, but the clippers have their eyes on signing him.

I don’t know about others but I am feeling a little soured on signing KD. I think Kawhi should be our #1 target and not sure on the #2. There aren’t really any great PFs or Big men available. Maybe trading for Vucevic would be a good idea and with his size and rebounding, we could resign Tobias.

A starting lineup of:

SGA

Kawhi

Tobias

Gallo

Vucevic

That would be nice!

I'm confident they will get it together and start winning again, especially when Curry gets healthy. But if they don't win a Championship this year, KD is gone without question. Hell, they could even win a championship and KD would still leave for LA or NY.

Why not sign Klay, Kevin, and trade for James too if we’re just creating fantasy squads

I'm just glad we have a competent advisor running the show. West likes to downplay his role, but it is very clear that he has a lot of pull. We can see that he has quickly begun to repair most of the damage Doc did as president of BO

It's fine if it is in its right place... I am not saying that the Clippers are the only thing we should talk about all the time. Interesting things happen in the NBA or in the world of sports, or in the world in general. But there is a "time and place" for everything and KD and Draymond drama does not belong in a Clippers discussion. It is almost insulting.

You're semi right but at the same time I'm also loving the fact that Clipp-newssurge is getting really active these days even more so than the Lob City era. Its hard to find a active Clipper forum on the net. Yes this isn't really "Clipper news" but it doesn't hurt this forum at all imo. Maybe posters should add the letters 'OT(off topic)' before any thread title that's not directly Clipper related.

No- like I said, it's fine, and it's in the right place. Like the others mentioned, it does have to do with the Clippers- it was during a Clipper game when it happened, GS is a Clipper rival, KD could be a Clipper FA target, etc. It's not 100% Clippers, but it's okay since it has something to do with the Clippers, and it's a hot topic.

If you want to talk about the topic of "Draymond Green & Kevin Durant Drama" that's great- but if you want to continue a discussion about whether a thread should or should not belong somewhere on this board, please PM me instead.

Lol, nobody wants to play with LeBron and be the whipping boy-get the Kevin Love treatment when the team looses. Kyrie wanted out in Cleveland, PG stayed in OKC, and Jimmy Butler didn't even mention the Lakers in his trade demands at the start of the season.
