I'm thinking DJ has to participate in the Slam Dunk contest now, right? After all these years of saying he'll only do the Slam Dunk if he were selected as an All-Star, now is his chance. Way to go, DJ!

Well coaches have now voted DJ to the All-Defensive team, and also to the All-Star game, and the panel of sportswriters etc voted him All-NBA. Pretty good for a former 2nd round pick.

Paul didn't make it due to being injured now, but they should have voted him in and then announced a replacement as he certainly deserves it, but whatever, who really cares.

Wow great job! I didn't think he would get in since there's no obligation to vote in a "center" just goes to show how everyone has taken a notice on his impact on the game

Happy for DJ record definitely helped the Clippers needed a representative. Might not be the best year but when you take into account with Paul and Blake off and on hurt he needed this for the effort

They actually voted in three C's too. DJ, Gasol and Cousins

exactly this... I am really upset about that... but there were so many things that went awry, that I can't even pause to think about it.

Also no BG?

This is a joke. But you can't knock it because it is still a big deal as far career accomplishment.

Blake has missed too many games at this point to make it. He's missed 20/47 games so far, so it's quite understandable as it is a good chunk of the season so far and you'll have players playing similarly well who have played 15, 20 more games.

Congrats to the big fella. He deserved it esp. with the way he worked on his game. From 2nd round prospect whose only skill was athleticism, to one of the leagues best bigs.

He should have been an all-star last year.

DeAndre Jordan, when the world doubted, you made it. When your team has completely fallen apart, you only missed a few games due to flu in your entire career. You are the best center in the league. More worthy than the media will ever credit you for.....but nonetheless YOU ARE AN ALL-STAR NOW! For the first time ever, DJ was getting "all star" calls. That idea alone, gave me hope this would happen. People talk about team win records, defense, offense, maturity when they want to put people down... then people like James Harden are suddenly MVP. Triple doubles are fetishized. People like Boogie Cousins are "lock ins." and all the while Clippers typically have a great win record comparatively. DJ hasn't been asked to do everything. And quite frankly if he starts developing a jump shot. I'll be mad. But we have one of the last remains of what is a true Center and he does it BEST. He's consistently high in blocked shots and rebounds, but then analysts say defense isn't sexy. Then you look and he's consistently high in dunks and field goal percentage. Then they say, oh well he has no jump shot or three point threat. All he does it dunk and his free throws! Which have improved aren't good, but when that's the only defense you have against the man... I'm fine with that. Shaq had the same issue, nobody considers him less great. He sets the screen that allow room for CP, JJ, and Griffin to be excellent shooters. And anyone who has seen a monster throw down from DJ, knows its all-star game worthy. I consider DJ the franchise player of the Clippers, not Blake Griffin.

It's about time- congrats to DJ! That would be very cool if he does the dunk contest as well.

Not sure DJ's ball handling skills are sharp enough for the dunk contest.

All he needs is one or 2 dribbles max Smile.

It's like one or two dribbles required for most dunks, actually you don't even have to dribble, so I'd hope he would be able to do that as an NBA player
