Though Blake Griffin just turned in his worst scoring effort of the season, there is good reason to believe he will bounce back. Griffin averages more points in the second half of back-to-back games than any player and will try to help the visiting Los Angeles Clippers hand the Charlotte Hornets a sixth straight defeat Monday night. The Clippers (7-5) won the first two contests on a seven-game trip before falling 107-91 to Memphis on Sunday. Griffin finished with a season-low 12 points on 5-of-17 shooting for his worst effort from the field, going 2 for 11 over the final three quarters. The....

This should be a good bounce back game for us. I want to see the Clips dominate.

Repped High Quality Post

Don't see how CP3 is untouchable when he reverted back to what the coaches demanded he not due and is being passive out the gate. Doc has been begging as have all other coaches its sickening watching paul wait until the game is out of hand to kick it up. He needs to look for his shot more often and early I can't stress enough why he has not got the message yet. He has won absolutely nothing in his career great in team value playing his way he should have learned but I doubt he ever will. Its either get a high scoring 3rd option with D or Paul won't be any of use getting a title as well.

The problem is not Chris Paul. It's everyone else.

Paul looking for his shot early won't help our garbage defense and rebounding which is the real problem. He shouldn't expected to be aggressive every game from start to finish. If that is what we need to win then we were not getting anywhere regardless. An aggressive Paul will win us a few RS games at best and likely make him injured for the playoffs. We have much bigger issues than "Paul being aggressive" or not. The fact that were bottom in the league defensively and in terms of rebounding is a much bigger issue but of course you would like Paul to be the only one on the team to play defense, lead the team in rebounds, steals, points and assists as a 29 year old PG with injury concerns right? Ridiculous....

That's my gripe with him as well. He tells the media that he should be more aggressive and does the exact opposite come game time. But he's not the problem on this team. He actually tries. He shows effort. At one point he lead the team in scoring, rebounds, assists, and steals and that was with him not scoring in the first. He's the best player on this team. Not much he can do when his teammates act like they don't give two ***** about the the game.

Dude Paul is a true point guard, that has the ability to score. The point guards job is to get everyone else involved and rack up the assist, which he is doing.

It's not easy for a true point guard to all of a sudden become a score first pg, just as it's hard for a score first pg to all of a sudden start being more of a playmaker.

If Paul's job was to come out the gate just looking for his own shot he would be a shooting guard.

With all that being said it would really help this team of he toned down the playmaking a bit and took a more Russell Westbrook approach.

Chris Paul career #'s per36...

18.4pts, 9.8ast, 4.3reb, 2.4stl, 0.1blk, 2.4TO, 47% FG, 36% 3pt, 86% FT

Chris Paul 2014/15 #'s per36...

18.6pts, 9.7ast, 4.6reb, 2.3stl, 0.4blk, 1.5TO, 51% FG, 40% 3pt, 84% FT

We brought him in as the best PG in the game, and he hasn't missed a beat this year despite being older. He is exactly the player he always has been - maybe even a little more efficient - which is quite the feat considering he's already the second most efficient guard in NBA history behind Michael Jordan.

He is not the problem.

If it wasn't a huge issue Doc wouldn't look for Paul to be more assertive with lack of wing talent.Doc needs him stepping into games looking to build confidence for the team with him as a scoring threat. His style hasn't won him anything being passive early so with Blake and Paul passing up shots for Jamal just makes no sense. Care less about his age or height he is a max guy and star player he can do it or the coachimg staff and media wouldn't ask him to be more aggressive early.

Point guards job is to command a team using his skills and his teammates. Its not like Chris Pauls scoring skill is a major drop off from his playmaking he is deemed the best because the balance of both. He doesn't need to be Westbrook but knowing to be more aggressive when needed like a Parker or Conley at times starting games would help.

Yeah... if he's not going to chuck up half the team's shots against a double-team - leading to poor efficiency - while his teammates stand around and watch just because he's the highest-paid player, I hear there's a guy just down the hall we could trade for who would do exactly that.

His team is doing so well.

We wouldn't have such a lack of wing talent if Doc did a better job as a GM.

It is a bit ridiculous that Paul's usage rate isn't even among the league's top 50. However, he's at the bottom of the team's issues. I'd take his efficiency over taking Jamal-like shots.

To be fair, Jamal is posting the highest PER of his career on practically the highest usage of his career. CP3's offensive game is best in the midrange, but he knows that across the league the 3pt shot and goals at the rim are the most efficient offense for a team.

Taking into account Blake's career-low FG%, TS% (despite his improved jumper and FT's) and PER, I don't think we should be pointing at CP3. Our big offensive problem is no presence in the paint.

Lance, damn that was the one guy I wanted the Clippers to get. Good defense, enforcer type who would have been great against Ibaka and Draymond Green. Sad

I was listening to Isaac Lowenchron on 980 after the game, and Sam Cassell has been instructing Paul to do exactly what you mentioned. When Paul is aggressive early on the opposing teams defense can't adjust. So it's not just a Clippers fan perspective but also something that the coahcing staff also thinks needs to be fixed. But I think that Paul just doesn't want to be that player anymore, and we have to come to accept that he may not be. This makes the situation bad because if Paul isn't attacking early then there's a whole lot of pressure on Blake to make up for that lack of offensive production. This has even been exacerbated even further by Redicks poor start because last year Redick was real hot in the first quarter so Paul's passiveness didn't hurt the team as bad as it is now.

Paul is going to be a distributor for the first two quarters and then heat up later on, so now the pressure is on for the FO to make that move to get an elite SF. That's the only way I see this team progressing deep into the playoffs because the other options on this team Blake, Redick, and Barnes are not exactly doing all that well.

Bullock is staring tonight for Barnes (calf). I hope this has nothing to do with the Chris Paul scuffle. We don't need more distractions.

When we get another SF is one question, getting an "elite" SF is a the bigger question from what team and for what price (in terms of the right trade partner(s) and $). The pickens are slim to done unfortunately.

Well to be fair this entire game has been Blake pick n roll and Blake post up ISO.

His job would be to just stand in the corner.

It's not that theyre in a funk, just the way they execute things.
